This chart was created by Dr. Philip Howard, a professor at Michigan University who has conducted several studies on the origins of organic foods.

Sadly there are less independent organic companies than owned organic companies. However, the good news is that you can still eat a cliff bar and not worry about who is getting your hard earned money (this especially good news for me because a cliff bars is my favorite snack to grab when I am running out the door).

This information is really important because as consumers we have the right to know who gets our money when we splurge to purchase organic foods.

Wow! Great info!!!!! I'm shocked by a few of those companies, but I'm very happy to see the second chart, as I consume quite a few of the products of those companies. The first chart just shows you that these big companies will make bad food and good food (for more money and an altruistic front). Great info! Where'd you find all this? I need to print these charts for my own use!
