The Santa Cruz Sentinel recently published the details of a proposed bill that includes budget cuts that are worrying organic farmers. The agriculture bill targets small programs that "serve primarily underserved sectors of agriculture," and the passing of this bill would have a major impact on the organic farmers of California. Important programs that are beneficial to organic farmers could lose funding, and it's been said that this cut would "slow the information to farmers and slow the growth of organic agriculture." Ah!
